In 60 dagen naar Rome
Omschrijving:
Tien jaar terug, ter ere van mijn 50e verjaardag, ondernam ik een pelgrimstocht naar Santiago de Compostella, op zoek naar het graf van apostel Jacobus de Meerdere. Een wandeltocht van 77 dagen met een afstand van ongeveer 1700 km. Wat begon als een sportieve uitdaging veranderde al snel in een spirituele reis.
Onderweg ontdekte ik dat je weinig nodig hebt en dat iedereen gelijk is. Je bent nooit alleen, je blijkt sterker dan gedacht en je ontwikkelt een ongekend doorzettingsvermogen. Geduld wordt je metgezel en het dagelijkse ritme verandert. Je leeft simpel, dicht bij de natuur. Het is niet eng om in je eentje te wandelen en de beren op de weg verdwijnen vanzelf. Je krijgt er zelfvertrouwen voor terug.
Met alleen het hoognodige in een rugzak begint het proces van ‘loslaten’ al thuis. Onderweg ontmoet je allerlei soorten pelgrims met hun eigen persoonlijke verhalen. Je slaapt op verschillende plekken, in herbergen of bij particulieren thuis en soms in een hotel. Ook al moet je ontzettend afzien, elke dag brengt een nieuw avontuur, wat pelgrimeren zo boeiend maakt. Het draait niet om het einddoel, maar om de reis zelf.
Daarom ben ik in 2015 gestart met jaarlijks een stukje ‘pelgrimeren’ vanaf Jacobiparochie in Friesland richting Rome. Naar het graf van apostel Petrus. Vorig jaar bereikte ik Reims in Noord-Frankrijk waar een oude route loopt, de ‘Via Francigena’ oftewel ‘De weg van de Franken’. Deze weg begint in het historische Canterbury en werd gebruikt door een bisschop in het jaar 990 om naar Rome te gaan.
Dit jaar, ter ere van mijn 60e verjaardag, wil ik de pelgrimstocht over de ‘Via Francigena’ naar Rome voltooien in slechts twee maanden, oftewel zestig dagen. Daarom start ik niet in Reims maar in het mooie Besançon. Ik loop dan vijf etappes door Frankrijk, tien door Zwitserland en vijfenveertig door Italië. Een reis door de Jura, de Zwitserse Alpen, de Povlakte, de Apennijnen en Toscane, met een totale afstand van ongeveer 1200 km.
Op 1 april begin ik aan dit avontuur en hoop begin juni weer thuis te zijn.

In 60 dagen naar Rome
Omschrijving:
Tien jaar terug, ter ere van mijn 50e verjaardag, ondernam ik een pelgrimstocht naar Santiago de Compostella, op zoek naar het graf van apostel Jacobus de Meerdere. Een wandeltocht van 77 dagen met een afstand van ongeveer 1700 km. Wat begon als een sportieve uitdaging veranderde al snel in een spirituele reis.
Onderweg ontdekte ik dat je weinig nodig hebt en dat iedereen gelijk is. Je bent nooit alleen, je blijkt sterker dan gedacht en je ontwikkelt een ongekend doorzettingsvermogen. Geduld wordt je metgezel en het dagelijkse ritme verandert. Je leeft simpel, dicht bij de natuur. Het is niet eng om in je eentje te wandelen en de beren op de weg verdwijnen vanzelf. Je krijgt er zelfvertrouwen voor terug.
Met alleen het hoognodige in een rugzak begint het proces van ‘loslaten’ al thuis. Onderweg ontmoet je allerlei soorten pelgrims met hun eigen persoonlijke verhalen. Je slaapt op verschillende plekken, in herbergen of bij particulieren thuis en soms in een hotel. Ook al moet je ontzettend afzien, elke dag brengt een nieuw avontuur, wat pelgrimeren zo boeiend maakt. Het draait niet om het einddoel, maar om de reis zelf.
Daarom ben ik in 2015 gestart met jaarlijks een stukje ‘pelgrimeren’ vanaf Jacobiparochie in Friesland richting Rome. Naar het graf van apostel Petrus. Vorig jaar bereikte ik Reims in Noord-Frankrijk waar een oude route loopt, de ‘Via Francigena’ oftewel ‘De weg van de Franken’. Deze weg begint in het historische Canterbury en werd gebruikt door een bisschop in het jaar 990 om naar Rome te gaan.
Dit jaar, ter ere van mijn 60e verjaardag, wil ik de pelgrimstocht over de ‘Via Francigena’ naar Rome voltooien in slechts twee maanden, oftewel zestig dagen. Daarom start ik niet in Reims maar in het mooie Besançon. Ik loop dan vijf etappes door Frankrijk, tien door Zwitserland en vijfenveertig door Italië. Een reis door de Jura, de Zwitserse Alpen, de Povlakte, de Apennijnen en Toscane, met een totale afstand van ongeveer 1200 km.
Op 1 april begin ik aan dit avontuur en hoop begin juni weer thuis te zijn.

In 60 dagen naar Rome
Omschrijving:
Tien jaar terug, ter ere van mijn 50e verjaardag, ondernam ik een pelgrimstocht naar Santiago de Compostella, op zoek naar het graf van apostel Jacobus de Meerdere. Een wandeltocht van 77 dagen met een afstand van ongeveer 1700 km. Wat begon als een sportieve uitdaging veranderde al snel in een spirituele reis.
Onderweg ontdekte ik dat je weinig nodig hebt en dat iedereen gelijk is. Je bent nooit alleen, je blijkt sterker dan gedacht en je ontwikkelt een ongekend doorzettingsvermogen. Geduld wordt je metgezel en het dagelijkse ritme verandert. Je leeft simpel, dicht bij de natuur. Het is niet eng om in je eentje te wandelen en de beren op de weg verdwijnen vanzelf. Je krijgt er zelfvertrouwen voor terug.
Met alleen het hoognodige in een rugzak begint het proces van ‘loslaten’ al thuis. Onderweg ontmoet je allerlei soorten pelgrims met hun eigen persoonlijke verhalen. Je slaapt op verschillende plekken, in herbergen of bij particulieren thuis en soms in een hotel. Ook al moet je ontzettend afzien, elke dag brengt een nieuw avontuur, wat pelgrimeren zo boeiend maakt. Het draait niet om het einddoel, maar om de reis zelf.
Daarom ben ik in 2015 gestart met jaarlijks een stukje ‘pelgrimeren’ vanaf Jacobiparochie in Friesland richting Rome. Naar het graf van apostel Petrus. Vorig jaar bereikte ik Reims in Noord-Frankrijk waar een oude route loopt, de ‘Via Francigena’ oftewel ‘De weg van de Franken’. Deze weg begint in het historische Canterbury en werd gebruikt door een bisschop in het jaar 990 om naar Rome te gaan.
Dit jaar, ter ere van mijn 60e verjaardag, wil ik de pelgrimstocht over de ‘Via Francigena’ naar Rome voltooien in slechts twee maanden, oftewel zestig dagen. Daarom start ik niet in Reims maar in het mooie Besançon. Ik loop dan vijf etappes door Frankrijk, tien door Zwitserland en vijfenveertig door Italië. Een reis door de Jura, de Zwitserse Alpen, de Povlakte, de Apennijnen en Toscane, met een totale afstand van ongeveer 1200 km.
Op 1 april begin ik aan dit avontuur en hoop begin juni weer thuis te zijn.

Reis:
In 60 dagen naar Rome
Omschrijving:
Tien jaar terug, ter ere van mijn 50e verjaardag, ondernam ik een pelgrimstocht naar Santiago de Compostella, op zoek naar het graf van apostel Jacobus de Meerdere. Een wandeltocht van 77 dagen met een afstand van ongeveer 1700 km. Wat begon als een sportieve uitdaging veranderde al snel in een spirituele reis.
Onderweg ontdekte ik dat je weinig nodig hebt en dat iedereen gelijk is. Je bent nooit alleen, je blijkt sterker dan gedacht en je ontwikkelt een ongekend doorzettingsvermogen. Geduld wordt je metgezel en het dagelijkse ritme verandert. Je leeft simpel, dicht bij de natuur. Het is niet eng om in je eentje te wandelen en de beren op de weg verdwijnen vanzelf. Je krijgt er zelfvertrouwen voor terug.
Met alleen het hoognodige in een rugzak begint het proces van ‘loslaten’ al thuis. Onderweg ontmoet je allerlei soorten pelgrims met hun eigen persoonlijke verhalen. Je slaapt op verschillende plekken, in herbergen of bij particulieren thuis en soms in een hotel. Ook al moet je ontzettend afzien, elke dag brengt een nieuw avontuur, wat pelgrimeren zo boeiend maakt. Het draait niet om het einddoel, maar om de reis zelf.
Daarom ben ik in 2015 gestart met jaarlijks een stukje ‘pelgrimeren’ vanaf Jacobiparochie in Friesland richting Rome. Naar het graf van apostel Petrus. Vorig jaar bereikte ik Reims in Noord-Frankrijk waar een oude route loopt, de ‘Via Francigena’ oftewel ‘De weg van de Franken’. Deze weg begint in het historische Canterbury en werd gebruikt door een bisschop in het jaar 990 om naar Rome te gaan.
Dit jaar, ter ere van mijn 60e verjaardag, wil ik de pelgrimstocht over de ‘Via Francigena’ naar Rome voltooien in slechts twee maanden, oftewel zestig dagen. Daarom start ik niet in Reims maar in het mooie Besançon. Ik loop dan vijf etappes door Frankrijk, tien door Zwitserland en vijfenveertig door Italië. Een reis door de Jura, de Zwitserse Alpen, de Povlakte, de Apennijnen en Toscane, met een totale afstand van ongeveer 1200 km.
Op 1 april begin ik aan dit avontuur en hoop begin juni weer thuis te zijn.

[description] => Tien jaar terug, ter ere van mijn 50e verjaardag, ondernam ik een pelgrimstocht naar Santiago de Compostella, op zoek naar het graf van apostel Jacobus de Meerdere. Een wandeltocht van 77 dagen met een afstand van ongeveer 1700 km. Wat begon als een sportieve uitdaging veranderde al snel in een spirituele reis.
Onderweg ontdekte ik dat je weinig nodig hebt en dat iedereen gelijk is. Je bent nooit alleen, je blijkt sterker dan gedacht en je ontwikkelt een ongekend doorzettingsvermogen. Geduld wordt je metgezel en het dagelijkse ritme verandert. Je leeft simpel, dicht bij de natuur. Het is niet eng om in je eentje te wandelen en de beren op de weg verdwijnen vanzelf. Je krijgt er zelfvertrouwen voor terug.
Met alleen het hoognodige in een rugzak begint het proces van ‘loslaten’ al thuis. Onderweg ontmoet je allerlei soorten pelgrims met hun eigen persoonlijke verhalen. Je slaapt op verschillende plekken, in herbergen of bij particulieren thuis en soms in een hotel. Ook al moet je ontzettend afzien, elke dag brengt een nieuw avontuur, wat pelgrimeren zo boeiend maakt. Het draait niet om het einddoel, maar om de reis zelf.
Daarom ben ik in 2015 gestart met jaarlijks een stukje ‘pelgrimeren’ vanaf Jacobiparochie in Friesland richting Rome. Naar het graf van apostel Petrus. Vorig jaar bereikte ik Reims in Noord-Frankrijk waar een oude route loopt, de ‘Via Francigena’ oftewel ‘De weg van de Franken’. Deze weg begint in het historische Canterbury en werd gebruikt door een bisschop in het jaar 990 om naar Rome te gaan.
Dit jaar, ter ere van mijn 60e verjaardag, wil ik de pelgrimstocht over de ‘Via Francigena’ naar Rome voltooien in slechts twee maanden, oftewel zestig dagen. Daarom start ik niet in Reims maar in het mooie Besançon. Ik loop dan vijf etappes door Frankrijk, tien door Zwitserland en vijfenveertig door Italië. Een reis door de Jura, de Zwitserse Alpen, de Povlakte, de Apennijnen en Toscane, met een totale afstand van ongeveer 1200 km.
Op 1 april begin ik aan dit avontuur en hoop begin juni weer thuis te zijn.
